Hello my favorite Lagniappers! I’m back again!

This time I brought my friend Terri Ecklund from the latest released in the Hot Nights in St. Blaise series – Bustin’ Out All Over.

Terri is one of those girls that people like to pigeonhole based on her looks and her background. It’s no secret in St. Blaise that her mama has a fondness for men and booze. The fact that Terri was an early bloomer didn’t do anything to make her popular with the girls she grew up with, either. Of course, those very same blessings have long made her a fan favorite with the local boys. Small town gossips think it’s only fitting for a girl who looks like Terri Ecklund to follow in her mother’s footsteps. But Terri has other plans.

There’s nothing I love more than a character that plays against type. I always wanted to write a heroine who was built like a pin-up doll but as sharp as a tack. Terri volunteered. But she’s so much more than a brain trapped in a bombshell body. She has a boatload of ambition tempered by good, old-fashioned common sense, and a heart as big as the state of Missouri. Hometown-boy-made-internet-millionaire Quentin Halliday never stood a chance. He was a goner the minute she stormed into his office.

Here’s a sneak peek at our girl, Terri, tapping into her arsenal.

Drawing a deep breath, she stepped out of the elevator, trying not to wince and curl into herself when the fifty-something guy waiting in the hall went all google-eyed. Raising her brows, she turned, giving him an ample eyeful of what her mother called her best assets. She cocked her head and forced a deceptively sweet smile. After all, she’d dressed to kill. “My gramma says I’m blessed.”

Her voice came in a breathy gush she’d perfected over the years. Unfortunately, the inner Marilyn Monroe didn’t come as standard equipment.  Channeling the blonde bombshell was a defense mechanism she’d developed over the years of ogling. She thrust her chest out a little further, watching the letch’s eyes widen as the slippery fabric of the plunging neckline held on for dear life.

As the first and only girl to bust into a B cup in fifth grade, she used to wish she had Dolly Parton’s sassy brass as back up, but unlike her double-D’s, she didn’t develop until after she’d endured years of slights and slurs. Lucky for her, her backbone continued to develop long after her ginormous boobs parked themselves in their too-big-to-be-pretty cups, and mean streak she maintained specifically for this purpose was honed to a sharp point.

“My pastor says I should get down on my knees every morning and every night.” She saw sparks of arousal light in his eyes. Wetting her lips, she stretched them into the same guileless smile she used to use when Jason tried to hide the fact that he’d been fucking around on her again. “To thank God, I mean.”

She the breathy, sexy voice like a weapon, and men fell for it. Every. Damn. Time.

Lord, I love her. She’s all woman, and such, all-powerful. Go, Terri, go!

I’ve had such a great time writing the Hot Nights in St. Blaise series. Though they’re all set in the same small town, each couple’s love story is truly unique. I’d love to share them with you. Comment below and tell me about a character who proved to be more than their packaging and I’ll give you your choice of 2 Hot Nights in St. Blaise novellas. Contest ends June 16, 2013 at 11:59PM EDT.

Thanks for letting me hang with you again. With six more steaming hot stories to come in this series, you can bet your bippy I’ll be back. If you’d like to know more about the fabulous Miss Terri and what makes her tick, check out Bustin’ Out All Over!

  1. Whew! That was some scene! I’m hooked and would love to read and find out how things turn out for Terri. My surprising character came about as a secondary character who’s only purpose was to help newfound friend, Leslie, over a painful breakup. But this beer-drinking, mechanical bull riding floozy ended up as the most talked about character in the book. Especially as she tucked ice chips between her cleavage and baits the bartender on how fast she can swallow!

  2. I LOVE this series. So hot! Thanks for hanging out with us again Maggie!

  3. Maggie, I love your posts so much. Always full of fun and sexiness. I can’t wait to read this new one.

  4. Thanks, my darlings! *blows kisses*
