Ginny Glass, the evil mastermind behind the Love Letters series, likes to claim that we all proposed BDSM stories in our original pitch. She lies (I love you Ginny!). My original pitch had nothing to do with BDSM. In fact, I pitched a story that involved two women spending a nice weekend away at a West Virginian cabin with a hot tub. Sounds like a great story, right?
Well, that one isn’t in this book. In fact, only the two pages asked for in my proposal are actually written. When Ginny told me she wanted me to participate in the project I did two things. First, I ran around the living room squealing like a crazy person and scaring my cats. Second, I freaked out because I was somehow supposed to either make my original idea BDSM or come up with something new. *gulp*
Well, new won out. Though I’d never written a BDSM story before, I had read plenty of them. So I read a few more, asked some questions to trusted friends and dug around online until the first spark of a story hit me. I won’t lie, there was a lot of research involved throughout my writing process and a few things my betas caught that would have been embarrassing if the story had gone to our editor that way. It was fun to play around though.
In a lot of ways, it made me more like my character Hilary. She’s shy and while she might know what goes on behind closed doors at the club, she only has pictures and her imagination. In my story (C Is for Curious), she gets to peek behind the curtain and find out what really goes on. Of course, one lesson is never enough

D Is for Detained by Maggie Wells
He was the preacher’s son; her parents owned the local sex shop. Sherry Adams and Tyler Prescott’s attraction was forbidden when they were teenagers, but years later Deputy Tyler takes out his trusty handcuffs to show her just how good they could be together.
Emily Cale spent the majority of her childhood as a visitor to the worlds of her favorite authors. With encouragement from her English teachers, she put pen to paper and began imagining her own stories. Preferring the fascinating lives of her characters, she majored in creative writing. When not lost in a manuscript or a good book, she enjoys crocheting, rock climbing, and playing board games. She currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her husband and a very spoiled cat.
